Using TeleAlarm in Smaller Facilities

In a smaller seniors’ residence, the one Main Relay can often be sufficient to provide coverage throughout; it can simply sound an audible alarm/signal to alert responders that an emergency call was received.

The LCD would display the room of the resident seeking assistance.  A flashing light or buzzer can be added either close to the Main relay or on a diiferent floor.  This would alert the staff that there is an alarm at the Main relay.  The staff can even be notified through a pager that there is an alarm at the TeleAlarm main relay.

Choice of transmitters

Residents wearing these portable wrist or necklace call buttons will be able to call for help in their suites and anywhere in a facility, a hallway, stairwell, elevator, a common area such as the sunroom, activity room and potentially at the gazebo. 

The Main NC4 relay identifies the relay that received the strongest signal and can pass it on to pagers to help pinpoint the location of the resident requiring assistance and alert your staff directly, saving time and providing them mobility.

Bosch Nurse Call Pull CordBosch Call Bell Pull CordAs for the transmitters installed in the residents’ bathrooms or in common areas, whenever the RED button is pressed or the pull cord is activated, a Call for Help alarm will be transmitted to the computer screen and to the pagers.  It will indicate both the name of the resident and room number, and that it is a Call for Help. 

Since there is no wiring involved, these could easily be added in future if required.  It is something that your maintenance sfaff could install and thus save on installation.

Add portable call buttons or pull cords yourself

You can do your own work on the system since it is wireless, and part of our training involves showing you how to program portable call buttons and pull cords both in the BOSCH Main relay and the computer database.  You can eliminate the need for expensive service calls.

Battery backup for facilities without backup generator

Both the Main and Local relays have built-in 24-hour battery backup and the LCD on the Main and Local relays will display the apartment or room number of residents needing help and will emit an audible alarm.   TELEALARM equipment allows your staff to continue receiving and identifying alarms in order to respond to the needs of your residents.

Improve staff productivity with pagers

A paging system can be added either at the initial installation or in the future to alert staff wherever they are in the facility.  Caregivers immediately receive the alarm on their pagers identifying the suite or room number of the resident who is seeking help or the resident's name or the name of the common area where the alarm originated. You can take advantage of the benefits of a paging system without choosing the computerized option.

Improve response with a computer

In future, you have the option to computerize your emergency call system to get further benefits.  The computer monitor displays the status of all current alarms on an ongoing basis.  The three parts of the screen display the current alarm, current technical alarms and waiting alarms.   With the addition of a computer, you also get these benefits.


Get information in real time

Another effective use of computerized monitoring and our software is that it lets you know when emergencies happen, and knowing how quickly your staff responds to resident calls can be critical.  Our software can provide data to help you improve staffing levels at certain times, validate service levels, or identify areas in need of improvement.

On the fly instant report

A simple click on the Event Log Table tab will immediately display information on alarms that have already been reset.  It shows the time the alarms came in, the pages that were sent out for the alarms, the time the alarms were reset, the reset pages, as well as actual response times.

The combination of a compurized system and remote access via the internet allows the owner/manager to literaly oversee his facility remotely.  From your home or off-site office, login to your emergency call system and see what is happening in real time or view past events. 

If an alarm is not responded to within the criteria you set, you can have the system send an email to your BlackBerry or other smartphone.  Similarly, if a portable call button or pull cord has a low battery or the Main or Local relay units are disconnected from either the power or the network, you can also get an email.  Just think, you could get an email that an alarm has not been responded to in a timely manner, you log on the computer remotely and send a page to the staff to ask them why.  Are you ready for that time away that you have been dreaming about - and yet stay connected with what's important to you, as it happens?
